Ferries from Newfoundland to Labrador
Labrador Marine Inc
The provincial government subsidizes auto and passenger ferry travel to numerous rural ports in Newfoundland and Labrador. Labrador Marine Inc, owns and operates the MV Appollo which travels between St Barbe on the Great Northern Peninsula of the island of Newfoundland and Blanc Sablon Quebec. A short drive from the Blanc Sablon ferry terminal brings you to the Quebec-Labrador boarder and Route 510, the Labrador Coastal Drive. Route 510 also connects with the recently completed Trans Labrador Highway from Happy Valley Goose Bay. The Mary's Harbour exit on Route 510 connects with Mary's Harbour Main Street and a 10 minute drive along the harbour shore will bring you to Battle Harbour's Visitor Information Centre & Ferry Terminal located just past, and on the opposite side from, the RCMP Detachment.

For additional information and routes, ships, ferry schedules and rates on the Labrador Marine Inc's auto and passenger ferries please see
http://www.labradormarine.com/

For additional information on the privately run passenger ferry that serves Battle Island from Mary's Harbour, and which is NOT subsized by the province, please see http://www.battleharbour.com/home/40

For driving times from the Blanc Sablon. QC docking port for the MV Appollo from St. Barbe,NL to the Battle Harbour ferry see http://www.stats.gov.nl.ca/DataTools/RoadDB/Distance/. This provincial government maintained "driving database" is helpful in estimating driving times at posted speedlimits between most communities in Newfoundland and Labrador. Information is available for both "miles per hour" and "kilometers per hour" as well as in miles and kilometers.

Please note that the time zones used for posted schedules of departure and arrival times for each of the MV Appollo, MV Sir Robert Bond and the passenger ferry between Marys' Harbour and Battle Island are all in Newfoundland Standard Time (NST).
