[Battle Harbour map]

Battle Harbour is on Battle Island and part of the archipelago accessible by sea on Labrador's southeast coast. The Big Land known as Labrador is part of Canada's newest province, Newfoundland and Labrador, and visitors can travel by road, or more conveniently by air and road, from all parts of Canada.

The town of Mary's Harbour is your gateway to Battle Island and the National Historic District of Canada known as Battle Harbour. The MV Trinity Pride makes two round trips each day from the public wharf as the passenger ferry for visitors and guests to Battle Harbour. Depending on the season, travellers can view whales, icebergs, dolphins, seabirds and seals during this one hour boat ride across the St. Lewis Inlet.

Air Routes
Provincial Airlines is the official carrier for visitors flying to Battle Harbour and provides daily services to Blanc Sablon, PQ where visitors can rent vehicles and experience the Labrador Coastal Drive while enroute to the Battle Harbour ferry in Mary's Harbour. Newfoundland and Labrador has two international airports - one in our provincial capital, St. John's, and the second in the middle of the island portion of our province in Gander. Domestic flights leave from both of these locations plus three other island locations (Deer Lake, Stephenville, St. Anthony) and three in Labrador (Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Churchill Falls, Wabush).

Available international and connector airlines include Air Canada, CanJet, WestJet, Air Labrador and Provincial Airlines.

Surface Routes
Mary's Harbour, on the southeast coast of Labrador, is accessible by road for about eight months of the year. Accessibility depends on the Strait of Belle Isle Ferry Service.

From anywhere in continental North America, drive to North Sydney, Nova Scotia from where Marine Atlantic's ferry service will take you to Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland. For information regarding this ferry service visit the Marine Atlantic website.
